Three-Tier Dental Sleep Medicine Training Program
The Academy builds dentists' competence within the sleep team through a systematic curriculum in three tiers: foundation, core and advanced.
Foundation | Introduction to sleep medicine
Pathology and grading of sleep-disordered breathing; fundamentals of interpreting sleep studies (polysomnography / home sleep testing); and the dentist's role in the sleep team and referral ethics.
Core | Oral appliance practice
Assessment of indications and contraindications; jaw-position records and device design; adjustment, side-effect management and long-term follow-up.
Advanced | Interdisciplinary integration and complex cases
Collaboration with ENT and sleep centers; combination therapy (CPAP with an oral appliance, post-surgical management); evidence updates and research methods.
